Summer Wined Up set for June 7 in downtown Newnan

Main Street Newnan is set to host one of its most popular events – The Summer Wined-Up – on Friday, June 7 from 5-9 p.m.
The Summer Wined-Up is Newnan’s wine-tasting event, and takes place each year during the month of June. Individual tastings occur at a different downtown businesses, where guests should expect to perform a “wine walk” that moves through 35 host locations. This is an open-container event in the downtown Newnan.
The merchants who host this event will feature different hor d’oeuvres and a variety of whites, reds, and specialty blend wines for guests to sample. All downtown business hosts are extending their business hours and hospitality to all downtown guests – drinkers, and non-drinkers – and will include retail specials and promotions.
Later that evening, a free Live Jazz concert will take place at the Greenville Street Park. The event is hosted by the Newnan Cultural Arts Commission and starts at 8 p.m. This year’s headliner is Infinite Sound Family. This band offers a mixture of different sounds and a myriad of styles. Infinite Sound Family is straight ahead on jazz, funk with rock, the pop hip hop, neo to the soul, electric techno, sweet on salsa, and classical and classy.
Advance tickets for the Summer Wined-Up are sold at a rate of $30 per person and are available online only at www.mainstreetnewnan.com. Main Street Newnan will offer a limited number of Summer Wined-up tickets for purchase. The event sells out in advance, so get your tickets early.
Event goers must be at least 21 years of age and provide a valid photo ID at the registration table at Newnan Carnegie Library for admittance. Upon signing in, each participant will receive a commemorative wine glass and an informational brochure.
Free public parking is available along downtown streets, and in the City of Newnan’s Public Parking Lots located at: 13 Lagrange Street, 25 Lagrange Street, 22 Spring Street, 6 First Avenue, 50 East Broad Street, 65 East Broad Street, 41 East Washington Street, and 22 East Broad Street.
