The Featured Joint: Apollo’s Steaks
From Staff Reports
Everyone has their “go-to” place to eat. It might be with linen tablecloths and waiters in ties, or where you throw peanuts on the floor and carve your initials in the wooden tables. Whatever and wherever, it’s your “joint.”
There are lots of these places around here, and we’re out to find them all in The Joints column. This month – it’s Apollo’s Steaks in Newnan.
Anyone who knows us knows we are always in search of the perfect Philly cheesesteak. And we have found another contender AND our latest joint to share – Apollo’s Steaks.
Let’s be clear, there are more than cheesesteaks here. Like fried shrimp and some cheesecake that are well, awesome. There’s just a couple of tables and a bench, so you might want to order ahead and they can bring it out to your car or take it wherever.
Here’s how Apollo describes the joint and his background: “Born and raised in Philadelphia as a “Young Bull,” Apollo grew up on the distinct flavors of the thinly sliced beef and savory onions and peppers of the famed cheesesteak, down to the warmth of the fresh lightly toasted Amoroso rolls. As the former owner of the Philly Shack in Southwest Atlanta, Apollo’s specialties combine fresh takes on ‘up North’ classics and Southern comfort foods. Now Apollo’s Steaks will bring the flavors of Philly to Newnan!”
Some great authentic cheesesteaks and other goodies here folks. Stop by and tell ‘em The Paper sent ya.
