The Featured Joint: Tacos Mi Veracruz

From Staff Reports
Editor’s Note – Everyone has their “go-to” place to eat. It might be with linen tablecloths and waiters in ties, or where you throw peanuts on the floor and carve your initials in the wooden tables. Whatever and wherever, it’s your “joint.” This month’s featured joint is …
Tacos Mi Veracruz
There is something about 21 Bullsboro Drive that seems to bring out the best in authentic Mexican restaurants.
A favorite joint before it closed, Taco Criss served a very specialized menu with lots of items we had never tried before. We were not happy when it closed (there’s still one in Sharpsburg off Hwy. 34), but thankfully Tacos Mi Veracruz soon moved in.
You know a Latin American restaurant is going to be good when sometimes you are the only white people dining in. For a while there, parts of their menu were only in Spanish, but they added some translations and now even we can order like we know what we are doing.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. We ordered chicken enchiladas once with mole sauce. They brought it out and said if it was too sweet for us, they would take it back and get us something else. Well, it was sweeter than our usual fare, but it was delicious. And what incredible customer service.
The Burrito Loco ranks up there as one of our favorites. And the street taco supreme is so big we always order extra tortillas. There are so many new things to try other than the typical fare that we will be coming back often to try something new.
