From Staff Reports

This month, The Paper visited with Tina Cannon for a quick question and answer session.

Briefly describe yourself and what you do/did.

I am a chef for Meals on Wheels of Coweta, a wife, a gardener, a competition cook on TV, and a dog mom.

Best piece of advice you’ve received.

Don’t sit under a bird or on a bee.

If I had it to do over …

Depends on what “it” is.

You are going on an extended solo trip. What three albums and three books would you take?

Dwight Yoakam‘s greatest hits, ABBA’s greatest hits and an 80s Dance compilation album.

A book by Karen Slaughter, Ann Rule,  and Janet Evanovich.

Tell us one thing about yourself that few people know.

I am afraid of dolls and bungee cords and I don’t eat sushi or rare meat.

You are hosting a dinner party for six. What five people, living or dead, would you invite and why.

My PawPaw, my dad, my brother, my friend Susan and Elvis.

Let’s just say we would have a lot to talk about.

Name an as yet unfulfilled dream.

To have a red Corvette.

If you weren’t doing what you are, you would be …

Well when I was a kid, I thought I would be an anthropologist.

Your go-to food.

Chips and salsa, extra spicy please.

Favorite movies(s)?

Gone With The Wind, Forrest Gump, and Goodfellows.

Dogs or cats?

DOGS!

Your favorite quote and why.

“After all, tomorrow is another day!” Because Scarlet was a wise woman.

Name something that you are extremely glad you did or accomplished.

I’m glad I went night diving, but I will NEVER do it again!

What advice would you give your younger self just starting out on their own?

Get an education, pearls go with everything, use a good moisturizer with sunscreen, laugh out loud, smile at others, hum your favorite tune, and help when you can.
