The Joint: Red Door Cafe

From Staff Reports
Everyone has their “go-to” place to eat. It might be with linen tablecloths and waiters in ties, or where you throw peanuts on the floor and carve your initials in the wooden tables. Whatever and wherever, it’s your “joint.”
There are lots of these places around here, and we’re out to find them all in The Joints column. This month – it’s Red Door Cafe in Haralson.
The Red Door Cafe
If you are ever in the mood to just go for a drive, grab breakfast or lunch and then head home, we have a suggestion. Head down to Haralson, which is about to the outer limits of Coweta County and look for the Red Door Cafe.
Now, the problem is you are not going to find a red door. Somehow, it got broken off, kicked in or something, we really don’t remember. And even Google Maps may not help you. So instead, type in Williams Grocery. You will definitely find that, and the cafe is attached at the end.
This is really a two-fer. Or three-fer if you’d like because you can also tour some scenes/sets from The Walking Dead.
Now at Williams Grocery you can find their sausage, which is pretty famous, having often been eaten at the Carter White House. So, grab up on some sausage and pork chops and then have breakfast or lunch next door.
On weekdays, they usually have two meat specials with plenty of vegetables. You can also order off the blackboards. Said blackboards come in handy because the nice waitresses will just point to the breakfast or lunch one depending on the time of day. So you don’t need to worry about that.
Life is an adventure. This would be a fun one. As their shirts say, ‘It’s not a party until the sausage comes out.”
