Featured Artist – John Hensley
John Hensley is proud to be born and raised here in Newnan. He joined the Army at age 18 and taught himself to play guitar while serving in Iraq in 2007.
After his service, he began to play in the church and eventually met his band mate Patrick Thompson at Four Corners Church in Newnan. They began doing local shows together in December 2020 as the band Liberty Road.
With a blue collar background, and a loving family, John tends to play songs that folks can feel whether they’re out for dinner at “Mad Mexican,” having a drink at “The Bays,” or at the local brewery, “Abide.”
John enjoys connecting with the crowd and he’s always ready for requests!
John is heavily influenced by classic country music and singer / songwriters. He loves story tellers and musicians that sing the truth. His measure of good music is “if one guy can play it on a guitar and you want to sing with him, it’s a great song.”
John covers a range of music from The Allman Brothers and Tom Petty to modern songs from Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, and Jason Isbell.
Whether he’s with his band Liberty Road, sitting in with other local artists, or playing solo: John can be found entertaining locally with an extended set list, a friendly approach to shows and great music!
