Hollonville Opry House
There was a place that always made you feel welcome, where the first thing you saw when you walked through the door was a smile and to the left a counter full of cupcakes, baked pies, egg salad sandwiches, hotdogs, drinks and coffee. Behind the counter were the volunteers and of course, Charlotte Kirkland. You walked through the next set of doors and into the auditorium with comfortable seating, and there was a cool stage with layered red curtains. As a musician you always felt at home, and standing behind the curtain to be announced was always very cool.
Hollonville Opry House’s last show in that building was in January 2019. They were looking for a new building and along with their son and daughter-in-law, and other dedicated folks, Charlotte & Harold Kirkland have started up the music again at Turin United Methodist Church in the fellowship hall, complete with a stage for the Bluegrass, Gospel & Country bands (and of course those delicious sandwiches and sweets).
Every first & third Saturdays music is back and friends are the focus, as we’re reminded of what this means to the community and to the people who made this happen at Hollonville Opry. See the schedule below in the May calendar.

This month, CEC’s Music Business class will present Rock Solstice – a variety rock show featuring some of Coweta’s aspiring artists. The event consists of exciting live performances and exclusive interviews with the musicians. Join them on their Live stream for a spectacular show!
