Featured Artist – Sara Greer

“Sara came out the womb singing!” in the words of her mother.

Sara Greer

She began her professional career at just 13, singing the national anthem at various sporting events and playing acoustic material (both originals and covers) at venues across the Southeast. She has shared the stage with Colbie Callait, Richard Marx, Kip Winger, Michelle Malone, Pierce Edens and more.

At 15, she released her debut EP, “All Who Wonder” (produced by Grammy-award winning producer Larry Mitchell), consisting of 4 original songs. At 17, she released a full length album titled “Drama, Drama.” The record, consisting of 9 original songs, was engineered and produced by Ross Childress (founding member of Collective Soul) and released in collaboration with Ryan Burton Music Group in early 2019- just weeks before Sara graduated from East Coweta High School.

While in school, Sara participated in a trade program through Central Education Center at West Georgia Technical College. Among these college-level courses were: Essentials of Sound Recording I & II (for which she later interned during her senior year), Live Sound & Field Audio, Music Business, and Audio & Video for Film. After graduating, Sara went on to intern at Southside Church in Newnan every Sunday morning for around 18 months. In early 2020, she began working part time at Guitar Center to help better her home studio – and that she has.

Today, she not only continues to play various venues around the metro area, but she also owns “Pulse Grind Audio,” with which she dedicates her creative talents and experiences to helping grow and nurture those of others. In 2020, she debuted her engineering and production capability with the track “Do Whatcha Gotta Do” by M.C. Scobes and U.S. Bunny, both also from Newnan. Sara created the instrumentation, cowrote, engineered each session, and mixed the audio (which was then mastered by Gavin Hough of Newnan). The track is available on all digital platforms.

Sara continues to work not only producing projects for other artists, but also music of her own. “You Don’t Scare Me” is the anticipated first single from her upcoming album “Free Spirit,” scheduled for release late 2022. The album will be entirely self-produced, engineered and funded.

Sara handling the soundboard.

“It’s just a matter of time before labels realize that they need artists, not the other way around,” Sara says.  “Furthermore, if the last five years have taught me anything, it’s that there’s a desperate need for women to step up in the field of sound engineering. It is a man’s industry, yet even still I never thought the way a person looks should determine their credibility in the mind of a stranger. I even got banned from a venue that I was supposed to play once for ‘touching the board’ when it was clear none of the staff knew how to operate it properly. But I don’t choose to view it as an ‘unfortunate reality’- although not gonna lie, had to call my mom after that run-in. Truthfully though, I am fortunate to be in a position to open doors for generations of women to come. Which sounds ridiculous to say in the 21st century, but if I can disprove at least one person’s prejudice, and make some killer music in the process, then that’s good enough for me.”
