From Staff Reports

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Freeze Warning for Coweta County beginning 8 p.m. this evening to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures will drop to 32 degrees or below by 8 p.m. These freezing temperatures could kill sensitive vegetation and damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

The forecast calls for temperatures to be above freezing by 11 a.m. tomorrow.

In addition, there is a chance of isolated snow flurries, sleet and rain between 1 and 3 a.m. The light wintry mix is possible mainly between the southern suburbs of Metro Atlanta and Macon, including Columbus and LaGrange. Since the air mass is very dry and the ground is warm, no accumulation is expected.

Tonight’s low will be around 26 with a Northwest wind at 10 mph, gusting to 15.
