It’s that time of year again! Not seasonal or holidays, but the announcement from different paint companies to announce their 2019 Color of the Year.

Let’s check out a few.

Beginning with Sherwin Williams, their color of the year is Cavern Clay and according to their information it is forged by the “sun-fired desert”. Their suggestion is to use wood furniture with a patina and their accent colors that go with it are not bad. My opinion is that it looks great with light or white furnishings and using blue accents like denim.

Behr has announced Blueprint as their color of the year and it conjures up the images of the blue prints used years ago by architects and builders. My opinion, just like a great pair of mid-tone jeans, it looks great with everything.

Benjamin Moore has chosen Metropolitan as their color of the Year and they use the words “calm, composed and effortless sophisticated”. My opinion is that it looks like the light gray tone we’ve been using over the past 8 or 9 years, and it is nice and understated.

Valspar, not to be outdone by any of the other paint companies, couldn’t narrow it down to 1 color but picked 12 colors of the year! Go to their website at www.valsparpaint.com to see the list and color tools offered. My opinion, they couldn’t make up their mind and decided to make everyone happy.

If you need help choosing a color for your home, whether you’re selling or staying, give us a call for a color consultation. You don’t have to use “the Color of the Year,” if you don’t want. It’s like the large box of crayons, you can choose the colors that you want!
