Below are fun, educational and family-friendly events in-and-around Coweta County this weekend.

Check with each event to see if it is weather permitting / rain or shine. All events are subject to change.

OCTOBER 6, FRIDAY

JR. RANGER CAMP
9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bobwhite Way, Newnan
Join our Jr. Ranger camp for kids ages 7-12. We will be doing activities to help the kids earn their Jr. Ranger badge. If someone already has a badge they can still attend and enjoy the outdoor activities. Snacks and lunches will not be provided, so please bring a water bottle and packed lunch. We will meet at the Day Use Area. Pre-registration is required. $20 per person. To pre-register call the visitor center at 770-254-7271.

MAIN STREET NEWNAN OKTOBERFEST
5-9 p.m. Downtown Newnan • mainstreetnewnan.com
Tickets are Sold Out for this Annual beer tasting event highlighting craft brews from across Georgia. However, come downtown and enjoy refreshments, retail sales specials and other treats will be made available for all participating attendees. An open container event.

OCTOBER 7, SATURDAY

COWETA COUNTY FARMERS MARKET / NEWNAN
8:30 a.m.-Noon at Asa M. Powell Sr. Expo Center, 197 Temple Avenue, Newnan
Every Wednesday and Saturday (thru mid-October) Local farmers  offer homegrown fruits, vegetables, homemade food items, plants and more!

SENOIA FARMERS MARKET
8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at 40 Travis Street, Senoia
It is a community-oriented marketplace that features a variety of local farmers, food producers, artisans, and craftsmen. You can find a wide selection of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, herbs, and flowers. There are also local food producers selling homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, and other artisanal products. The market also features handmade crafts, such as pottery, jewelry, and textiles. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and other family-friendly activities.  EVERY Saturday.

Serenbe Farmers Market offers a variety of healthy foods and artisanal goods on a large green space surrounded by a canopy of trees. Spend the morning shopping for your weekly groceries or unique gifts & wears while enjoying the beauty of nature.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
This market brings approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats, honey, eggs, prepared foods and so much more. It’s the perfect place to find the consummate gift for the foodie in your life and visitors will also find live music going on.

THE COTTON FAIR
9 a.m.-5 p.m. at 18830 Highway 85, Gay, GA
The Cotton Fair has been a staple in the community of Gay, GA for over 50 years. Each year during the first weekend of May and October, the Craft Festival brings a bustling crowd into this historic town. The festival is a chance to discover unique, skilled artisans and one-of-a-kind antiques – it feels like stepping back in time. Admission: Adults (11-64) $15, Seniors (65+) $10, Active Duty Military ($10), Children (10 and under) Free. Parking is free.

SUPERHERO DAY
10 a.m.-Noon at Greenville Street Park, downtown Newnan
Sponsored by Newnan Leisure Services with Southern Belle Princess Parties. All ages welcome. Come hang out with your favorite heroes.

RAIN BARREL WORKSHOP
10-11 a.m. at Newnan City Hall, 25 LaGrange Street, Newnan • 678-673-5505
Sponsored by Newnan Utilities and Keep Newnan Beautiful. This is a make-n-take workshop with limited spaces available. Pre-registered participants will leave with a full-size rain barrel. Registration fee is $20 for City of Newnan residents. The remainder of the $45 material cost covered by Newnan Utilities. If you are not a City of Newnan resident, you can participate but will have to pay the material cost. A $20 deposit is required upon signup. MARKET DAY
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Courthouse Square, Downtown Newnan
Hosted by Main Street Newnan on the first Saturday of every month. The Market features over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.

AIR SHOW ATLANTA
11:30 a.m. at Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field, 7 Falcon Drive, Peachtree City • 770-487-2225
The Air Dot Show soars into Falcon Field both Saturday and Sunday. The event will feature the Air Force F-22 Raptor, Navy E/A-18 Growler, and much more! Flight performances from Noon to 2:30 p.m. with headline performance at 2:30 p.m. For tickets, click HERE.

FAITH & BLUE COMMUNITY DAY
Noon-4 p.m. at Coweta Tag Office Parking Lot, 87 Newnan Station Drive, Newnan
Join the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office for plenty of family-friendly things to do and a day of resolution and reconciliation. Meet Freddie Falcon, Bouncy House, Face Painting, Live Music, Ice Cream Truck, Food Trucks, Meet and Greet, Unity Prayer and more.

BEER & FOOD TRUCK EVENT
5-9 p.m. at SummerGrove Golf Club, 335 SummerGrove Parkway, Newnan
A variety of beer will be available for CASH ONLY unless you go into the Clubhouse to purchase drink tickets with a credit card. Come on out and enjoy a fun night with friends. Will be held in front of the Golf Course Clubhouse.
