Area Sports Calendar, plus College & Pro Sports on TV

From Staff Reports
October has arrived and that means region high school football and baseball playoffs.
It’s Week No. 8 in the 2023 prep football season and a huge game is set on Friday (Oct. 6) as Carrollton travels to East Coweta. Both squads sport 5-1 records and the game will be televised by Georgia Public Broadcasting as part of its Football Fridays package.
The Atlanta Braves enter the playoffs with Major League Baseball’s best record at 104-58. The National League Division Series starts Saturday as the Braves will host either the Philadelphia Phillies or Miami Marlins in the Best of Five Series.
