Tuesday: Coweta adds 16 new cases, 2 hospitalizations

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Coweta County confirmed 16 new cases of COVID-19 in Monday’s report, including 2 hospitalizations and 0 deaths. So far in September, Coweta is averaging 11.9 cases per day, significantly lower than the 30.7 per day during the month of August.
Tuesday’s 16 cases push the Coweta cumulative total to 2428, up from Monday’s sum of 2412. The overall positive rate for tests in Coweta is 8.7 percent. Other cumulative totals to date include 40 deaths and 115 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
Statewide on Tuesday, Georgia confirmed 1496 cases which was about 470 more than Monday’s total. Other Tuesday numbers included 45 deaths, 271 hospitalizations (the most since 292 on Aug. 25), and 40 ICU admits. It also marked the 31st consecutive day which Georgia has been below 3,000 cases.
Presently, there are 1507 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, down 29 from Monday.
Overall, Georgia now stands at 296,833 cases, 6398 deaths, 26,665 hospitalizations and 4870 ICU admits. The overall rate for positive tests is 10.3 percent.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
