Weather: Spring-like temps return this week to Coweta

Though the official start to spring is nearly a month away, Coweta County will be feeling some spring-like high temperatures during the week.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says after a fast-moving system carrying some rain showers moves through about midday, clearing will begin and temperatures will begin to rise. This afternoon, expect cloudy skies gradually becoming clear with a high of 60 degrees. Rain chances are 60 percent through the morning. The overnight low under clear skies will be 36.

Sunny skies return on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with highs reaching the mid-to-upper 60s.

Rain chances of 40 percent move in on Friday and Saturday with temperatures dropping slightly.

MONDAY – Showers likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 60. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

MONDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 36. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 65. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 38. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 67. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

THURSDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56.

SATURDAY – A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62.

SUNDAY – A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 67.
