This Weekend (Dec. 7-8-9): Things to do in-and-around Coweta County

The holiday season continues here in Coweta County and surrounding areas as many seasonal events dot the weekend’s calendar
Tonight, highlights include the Newnan Christmas Tour of Homes, the Newnan-Coweta Historical Society’s Christmas Open House, Cornerstone UMC’s Drive-Thru Nativity and a sunset hike at Chattahoochee Bend State Park.
On Saturday, it’s the Great Gingerbread Build sponsored by the Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity, a Santa visit at Newnan’s United Bank, Peachtree City’s Santa Run Food & Toy Drive and our own Kris Youmans spotlights five live music gigs taking place locally .
And on Sunday, Senoia hosts its Candlelight Tour of Homes, plus plays continue at both the Newnan Theatre Company (Miracle on 34th Street) and the Legacy Theatre (Away in a Basement).
As for the weekend weather, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City says rain is in the forecast the entire weekend, beginning late tonight and continuing through Sunday. In fact, it was this weather forecast calling for rain which rescheduled the Newnan Christmas Parade to Dec. 15. Look for a 90-100 percent rain chance on Saturday and Sunday with highs near 40 degrees and lows in the mid-30s.
Below is the day-to-day listing of events in the area. To have your event published, please email [email protected].

Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy’s vocational counselor, who plots to have Kris shanghaied to Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing.
