Weather: Winter returns to Coweta County to kickoff 2022

After a brief absence, winter has returned with a bang today here in Coweta County.
Just two days ago, the weather station at the Newnan-Coweta Airport recorded a high of 78 degrees. This morning, the temperature is 35 degrees and overcast with a wind chill of 25, Northwest wind at 16 mph and gusting to 25. That’s quite a contrast.
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Wind Advisory for Coweta and surrounding counties until noon today. The advisory says to expect Northwest winds from 15-25 mph, gusting to 45.
Today’s high will eventually reach around 43 degrees with decreasing clouds before the overnight low drops to 27 under clear skies.
A slight warming trend begins Tuesday with a high of 50, then 56 on Wednesday before the next rain chance arrives on Thursday at 60 percent with a high listed at 55.
Cooler weather moves in on Friday with sunny skies and a high of only 44 and overnight low again below freezing at 27.
