Newnan Utilities recently received multiple state and national honors recognizing its performance in safety and electric system reliability. Those include the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) 2025 Certificate of Excellence in Reliability, placing it among the top utilities nationwide, and the APPA 2025 Diamond Safety Award, the highest level of recognition for safety among public power providers nationwide.

The Coweta County Board of Education named Stefanie Easterwood as the new principal of East Coweta High, to succeed Principal Steve Allen when he retires later this year. Easterwood has served as the principal of Arnall Middle School since 2024, and is a former East Coweta High Assistant Principal, and a former Chemistry teacher and science department chair at the high school.

Piedmont Newnan Hospital recently announced the latest advancement in minimally invasive surgery, the Single Port (SP) da Vinci robot. Piedmont Newnan is the first in the Piedmont system to utilize this innovative tool for head and neck surgical oncology, including transoral robotic surgery (TORS).
