Hike and Paddle
Saturday, August 10 and Sept. 1, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join us for a 5.5 mile hike up the Riverside Trail along with an hour long paddle down. You MUST pre-register for this event by calling. Kayaks are available for rent if needed for $30. $12 plus $5 parking.

Eye-Spy Scavenger Hunt
Saturdays in August, 10,17,24, 31. 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Bring your camera and take a look around our park for the items on our scavenger hunt list. Take a picture with each item on our list and bring your completed list and pictures to the office to claim your prize. Stop by the visitor center to pick up your scavenger hunt checkoff list! $5 parking

Meet the Turtles
Saturday, August 10, noon – 1 p.m.
Join our naturalist to learn more about the turtles we have here at the visitor center. Get an up-close look at our turtles and watch during our feeding time! $5 parking.

Homeschool – Bats at the Bend
Wednesday, Aug. 14, noon – 1 p.m.
Join our naturalist to learn about bats in our region and why we have bat boxes in the park. We will also have a bat related craft! Meet at Day Use Area. $5 plus $5 parking.

National Honey Bee Day
Saturday, Aug. 17, 1-2 p.m.
Join our naturalist to learn all about honey bees and plants that attract them! Meet at visitor center porch. $5 parking

Owl Pellet Dissection
Saturday, Aug. 24, 11 a.m. to noon
Join our naturalist to learn more about what owls eat and how they digest food. Meet at visitor center porch. $5 plus $5 parking.

Roving Rangers

The Sunrise on the Square Labor Day Road Race is a local favorite, and has been held annually in Downtown Newnan on the Saturday before Labor Day for over 25 years! The race begins in Downtown Newnan and spans through “The City of Homes”.
