Weather Week in Coweta: Hot, humid with heat index above 100 Monday, Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect the Heat Index to be 102 degrees today, 104 on Tuesday before returning to normal August warmth midweek.
Expect mostly sunny skies with a 30 percent rain chance on Monday and Tuesday with highs near 94 degrees. The Heat Index (combining humidity with temperature) is forecast to go above 100 degrees both days.
A 60 percent rain chance for Wednesday and Wednesday night will reduce the Heat Index values and the return to highs around 90 degrees remain through the weekend.

TUESDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 104. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
WEDNESDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
THURSDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
FRIDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90.
