Cathy Wickey named Coweta’s Communications Manager

Cathy Wickey has joined Coweta County and the Board of Commissioners as the Communications Manager. In this role, Cathy will serve as the media liaison and assist with strategic and internal communications, social media and event support for County projects, efforts and responsibilities.

“Cathy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team.  As Coweta continues to grow, providing consistent and effective outreach and communications becomes exponentially more important,” said Patricia Palmer, Director, Community and Human Resources.   “We are very happy to have her fill this role.”

“I am very excited to join Coweta County and serve our community,” says Cathy. “My goal is to enhance communications while continuing to keep our citizens and employees informed and engaged.”

Cathy is an experienced communications and public relations practitioner, working in both corporate and agency environments. She recently served as Senior Specialist, External Affairs and Communications at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in Newnan. Cathy is skilled in developing strategic communications and marketing plans that drive reputation and awareness. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Cathy has lived in Georgia for the last seven years. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and staying active. She resides in Newnan with her husband and their young son.
