Friday: Coweta adds 11 new cases, 2 deaths and 1 hospitalization

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, Sept.4.

Coweta County confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 in Friday’s Daily Status Report, including 2 deaths and 1 hospitalization. The deaths were of a 63-year-old white male with no underlying conditions and an 81-year-old white male with unknown underlying conditions.

Friday’s cases move the Coweta cumulative total to 2308, up from Thursday’s sum of 2297. Other cumulative totals to date include 31 deaths and 111 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Across the state, 2066 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed today which was about 600 less than Thursday. Other Friday numbers included 63 deaths, 143 hospitalizations and 36 ICU admits. It’s the 20th straight day below 3,000 cases.

Presently, there are 1742 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, a decrease of 51 from Thursday.

Overall, Georgia now stands at 279,354 cases, 5931 deaths, 25,402 hospitalizations and 4664 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
