Coweta County High Schools planning for 2021 Year-End Events

From Coweta County Schools Press Release
Coweta County high schools are planning for several year-end events as the 2020-21 school year heads toward a close on Friday, May 28.
East Coweta, Newnan and Northgate High Schools are making final determinations regarding those events, and how they will be conducted with COVID-19 protocols.
All three high schools anticipate going forward with proms (seniors-only) in April and May. Coweta’s 2021 high school proms will be held locally. A final determination of local outdoor venues, which will allow for greater space and airflow at the events, will be announced soon. This year’s prom dates are:
Northgate High School – Saturday, April 24
Newnan High School – Friday, April 30
East Coweta High School – Saturday, May 1
All three high schools are also planning in-person graduation ceremonies in May. This year’s graduation dates and locations are:
Newnan High School – Thursday, May 27, 7:30 p.m., at Drake Stadium
Northgate High School – Friday, May 28, 7:30 p.m., at Henry Seldon Field
East Coweta High School – Thursday, May 27 (for graduates with last names beginning A-K) and Friday, May 28 (for graduates with last names beginning L-Z), both at 7 p.m., at Shoemake Stadium
Alternate rain dates for graduation ceremonies will be scheduled for Friday, May 28 (Newnan High School) and Saturday, May 29 (Northgate and East Coweta High Schools), also in the schools’ stadiums.
At all events, Coweta’s high schools will follow the COVID-19 protocols followed in schools, including limiting crowds on-site to allow for greater social distancing. This includes a limitation on the number of guests who can attend graduation ceremonies. East Coweta’s larger graduating class is being split into two ceremonies to accommodate guests in Shoemake Stadium.
