Coweta County Schools end their academic year on Friday, May 24.

On May 23 through 25, over 1,500 graduates are expected to participate in commencement ceremonies at Coweta’s three high schools.

Attendees for this year’s Commencement ceremonies at Northgate, Newnan and East Coweta High Schools are encouraged to arrive early for parking at the three campuses.

East Coweta High School – which holds its graduation ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25 – is encouraging attendees to use off-site parking at Lee Middle School, Willis Road Elementary School and Poplar Road Elementary School that morning, beginning at 7 a.m., and use shuttle buses provided to and from the ceremonies. Handicapped parking is available on the main campus, but those needing it are encouraged to arrive early.

Major last-week ceremonies for high schools include:

Wednesday, May 22 – Central Educational Center Dual Enrollment Graduation, at the Nixon Centre, 7 p.m.

Thursday, May 23 – Newnan High School Graduation, at Drake Stadium, 7:30 p.m. Valedictorian: Radford Wyrick, Salutatorian: Madison Cramer.

Friday, May 24 – Northgate High School Graduation, at Henry Seldon Field, 7:30 p.m. Valedictorian: Sam Pfliger, Salutatorian: Morgan Robertson.

Friday, May 24 – Last Day of the School Year.

Saturday, May 25 – East Coweta High School, at Shoemake Stadium, 9 a.m. Valedictorian: Yewon Jasmine Park, Salutatorian: Elaine Joo.
