Finalists named for Coweta County Schools Teacher of the Year

Three finalists have been selected for 2019 Coweta County Teacher of the Year.
The three finalists are Elizabeth Deganian, Self-Contained Special Education, Newnan Crossing Elementary School; Lindsey Haralson, 5th Grade Math and Science, Brooks Elementary School; and Ashley Nelson, 2nd Grade, Ruth Hill Elementary School.
The three finalists were selected from among 31 Teachers of the Year at Coweta’s public schools. Coweta County’s county-wide Teacher of the Year will be selected from among the three, and announced at the Coweta County School System’s Teacher of the Year program this Wednesday, May 1.
Teachers of the Year are selected by their fellow certified educators at each school in recognition of their exemplary teaching. Honorees represent grade levels from Kindergarten through 12th grade and a range of educational disciplines including elementary grade instruction, math, special education, gifted education physical education, sciences, music, language arts and media specialists.
