Fourth of July Parade, Fireworks Show schedules set for Newnan

Both the 4th of July Parade and the 32nd Annual Newnan Fireworks Show are set for Independence Day on Thursday, July 4.

The Parade will begin at Veteran’s Memorial Park (Temple Avenue Park) in downtown Newnan at 9 a.m. and will end at the Greenville Street Park. Local vendors and a farmer’s market will be set up on South Court Square as part of the parade festivities.

Main Street Newnan welcomes all interested parade participants to register on www.mainstreetnewnan.com. Registration is only necessary for participants that intend to use a motorized vehicle and participation is free. Walking groups are not required to register but it is highly recommended in order to receive informational updates. Walkers should report to the Veteran’s Memorial Park on Temple Ave. Floats will be staged at a different location and must be registered by June 26th to participate.

Later that evening, the Fireworks Show will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Newnan. The event takes place at Joe Pope Field on the campus of Newnan High School.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and live music from Crossroads Rebellion Band starts at 6 p.m. The fireworks show begins promptly at dark.

Admission is free and attendees should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Concession stands will be available and children’s activities are planned as well.

Free public parking for the parade is available along downtown streets, and in the City of Newnan’s Public Parking Lots located at: 13 Lagrange Street, 25 Lagrange Street, 22 Spring Street, 6 First Avenue, 50 East Broad Street, 65 East Broad Street, 41 East Washington Street, and 22 East Broad Street.
