Friday: Coweta rises by 25 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, July 17.

Today, Coweta County saw an increase of 25 new cases of COVID-19, the most since 25 last Saturday. In addition, 1 hospitalization was posted and no deaths. It is the fourth consecutive day Coweta has recorded 10-or-more new cases.

Cumulative totals for Coweta now stand at 963 cases, 16 deaths and 69 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (46 on July 3); deaths (3 on May 21); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Statewide, Georgia had its 2nd-highest single day total with 3,908 new cases. It also added 28 deaths, 301 hospitalizations and 45 ICU admits. It is the 26th consecutive day the state has had 1,000-or-more cases in a single day and the 10th time since July 1 with 3,000-or-more cases.

Currently, there are 2,902 people hospitalized across the state.

Overall, Georgia has 135,183 cumulative cases, 3132 deaths, 14,647 hospitalizations and 2781 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,484 on July 10); deaths (94 on April 20); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (46 on July 10).
