The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Sunday, Oct. 25.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday with 0 deaths and 0 hospitalizations reported. Today’s cases push the October cumulative total to 321 or an average of 12.8 per day. Of the 21 cases, the age groups of 45-54 and 75-84 years old each had 4 new cases.

To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 2949 cases, 63 deaths and 145 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 8.0 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.8 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

Across the state on Sunday, the state confirmed 1318 cases (down 528 from Saturday’s totals) with 1 death, 22 hospitalizations and 3 ICU admits. The 1 death was the lowest single-day total since 1 on July 4. It’s the 71st straight day below 3,000.

Presently, there are 1,336 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 350,923 cases, 7809 deaths, 31,068 hospitalizations and 5825 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.5 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.3 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
