Weekend Weather in Coweta: Hot, highs in mid-90s

Summer continues its blistering start to the season with a weekend featuring sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid-90s, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Friday’s high will be 94 degrees with a heat index (combining temperature and humidity) of 99. On Saturday, a high of 93 is forecast with a heat index of 100. And Sunday, the high is expected to be 95.
Rain chances are minimal but listed at 20 percent Friday and 30 percent on Saturday and Sunday for an afternoon pop-up shower or thunderstorm. The next best rain possibility is Tuesday (60 percent).
Lows all weekend will be in the lower 70s.

SATURDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 100. Calm wind.
SATURDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. Calm wind.
SUNDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
SUNDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74.
