Main Street Newnan has another fun, yet busy Labor Day Weekend set for downtown Newnan.

The Sunrise on the Square Labor Day Road Race is the headlining event that also includes the Labor Day Sidewalk Sale and Market Day.

All the fun begins Friday with the annual Labor Day Sidewalk Sale. This is an all-day shopping event that starts on Friday as visitors are invited to walk the downtown streets and shop the best deals of the year. Many businesses hold the sale throughout the weekend.

Next is the Sunrise on the Square 5K Road Race on Saturday, a local favorite, that has been held annually in downtown Newnan for over 45 years. The race hits the streets of Newnan at 8 a.m.

And finally on Saturday shortly after the 5K Road Race will be Market Day around the Newnan Square from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Market will feature over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items as well as fresh, locally-grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.

Registration for this year’s Sunrise on the Square Road Race continues into the late registration stage. Cost to enter the race is $35-$40. Those interested can register online at https://www.active.com/newnan-ga/running/distance-running-races/45-annual-sunrise-on-the-square-5k-2022 or beginning at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the race.
