Long Term Care Facility Report: 8 new cases, 2 deaths in Coweta

Monday’s Long Term Care Facility Report (7 p.m.) showed eight new COVID-19 cases and two deaths among the five Coweta County communities included in the listing.
Newnan Health and Rehabilitation Center posted 3 new resident cases, 2 resident deaths and 2 new staff cases. Avalon Health and Rehabilitation Center recorded 2 new resident cases and 1 new staff case.
The cumulative totals – published by the Georgia Department of Community Health – for Newnan Health and Rehabilitation now stand at 46 resident cases, 10 resident deaths and 16 staff cases. Avalon has registered 12 resident cases, 5 resident recoveries and 3 staff cases.
Yesterday’s Daily Status Report from the Georgia Department of Public Health had Coweta County with an overall total of 468 cases, 9 deaths and 53 hospitalizations.
A discrepancy does exist between the two reports regarding deaths. Seven of the 10 resident deaths at Newnan Health and Rehabilitation have not been listed on the Daily Status Report by the Georgia Department of Public Health. If and/or when they are moved to that listing, Coweta County will have 16 overall deaths due to COVID-19.
Other Coweta facilities appearing on the Long-Term Care Report include Ansley Park Health & Rehabilitation (1 staff positive), The Plaza Personal Care Home (1 staff positive) and Watercrest Assisted Living & Memory Care (3 resident positives, 3 resident recoveries and 4 staff positives).
