Master Gardeners’ Workshop: To Prune or Not To Prune?
From Special Reports
Have you ever wondered how to tame that giant bush that’s trying to take over your backyard or prune your shrubs for maximum flowers next spring?
If so, you can learn how to prune successfully during the February Coweta County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers Workshop: “Reasons Why, When and How to Prune Common Shrubs and Bushes.”
“Pruning is an art and a science, one of the most important cultural practices for maintaining woody plants,” says Allen Summerlin, Coweta MGEV. “Knowing how to make the pruning cuts properly is important to the health of the plant, and it’s definitely a science in knowing how and when to prune for maximum benefits.”
The free workshop will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the UGA Extension – Coweta County, 255 Pine Road, Newnan.
C.R. Phillips, Dan Gentry and Summerlin will lead the workshop.
