Prep Football: East Coweta, Heritage and Central Christian winners

All six Coweta County high school football teams were in action on Friday night.
The game of the week featured cross-county rivals East Coweta and Newnan squaring off in Sharpsburg. East Coweta broke loose in the second half following a 3-3 deadlock at halftime to claim a 38-17 victory, the Indians’ first win of the season. Newnan fell to 0-2.
At Northgate, Starr’s Mill paid a visit to Henry Seldon Field and left with a 19-0 win. The Vikings drop to 0-2 on the year.
The Trinity Christian Lions, defending GHSA Private 1-A champs, remained winless at 0-2 on the season with a 23-19 defeat to Fellowship Christian in Roswell.
Heritage School, which moved from GHSA to GIAA over the winter, stayed unbeaten with a 54-0 drubbing of visiting Creekside Christian.
And Central Christian opened its play in 8-man GAPPS (Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools) football at home last night with a 41-0 blanking of New Creation Academy.
Next week, East Coweta (1-1) travels to Hillgrove, Northgate visits Villa Rica, Trinity Christian goes to Forsyth to face Mary Persons, Heritage School hosts Kendrick of Columbus and Central Christian is at home against Victory Baptist. Newnan is open.
