Two prep football games canceled due to COVID-19 protocols

From Staff Reports

All six Coweta County high school football teams were set to continue their 2020 season tonight, but three of the squads will be on the sidelines.

COVID-19 protocols forced the cancellation of two games – East Coweta at McEachern and the cross-county rivalry Heritage School at Trinity Christian. Published reports indicate both Cobb County School officials and Heritage School officials decided to cancel tonight’s games, thus awarding forfeit wins to East Coweta and Trinity Christian.

Other games presently set to be played tonight include Newnan at Campbell, Northgate at Whitewater and Central Christian at Fullington Academy.

East Coweta returns to action next week hosting Newnan. Trinity Christian is scheduled to travel next Friday to Pacelli while Heritage School will host Brookstone on Thursday.

East Coweta High School fans who purchased tickets for Friday’s home game through Go Fan will have their purchase refunded to their card or account that made the purchase within 3-5 business days.
