We were honored to welcome U.S. Representative Congressman Brian Jack to City of Hope Atlanta in recognition of the Congressionally directed Community Project Funding award he secured on behalf of Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District. This award will support the development and launch of HopeLLM, City of Hope’s oncology-focused artificial intelligence platform, at City of Hope Atlanta.
During his visit, Congressman Jack joined our leadership team for a HopeLLM demonstration of the tool, which focuses on AI-enabled clinical trial matching, helping clinicians identify appropriate clinical trials more efficiently. This innovative technology will expand access to innovative new treatments and bring more hope to patients and families across Georgia.
We are grateful for Congressman Jack’s leadership and support in advancing innovative cancer care and strengthening access to clinical trials in our community. Together, we are working to ensure more patients have access to lifesaving cancer therapies and a brighter future.
Congressman Brian Jack said, “I am honored to support our fight against cancer by delivering a $1.98 million federal investment in cancer prevention and early detection technology.  Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District is proud to be the home of City of Hope Atlanta’s Newnan campus, one of our Country’s leading cancer centers, and this funding will accelerate the deployment of City of Hope Atlanta’s “HopeLLM”, breakthrough technology that could revolutionize the way cancer patients are treated.  Curing cancer is a goal that unifies all Americans, and funding and utilizing emerging technologies will hopefully enable us to achieve this virtuous objective.”
Jonathan Watkins, CEO of City of Hope Atlanta said, “We are deeply grateful to Congressman Brian Jack for his leadership and advocacy on behalf of patients and families across Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District.  This $1.98 million Community Project Funding award will accelerate the launch of HopeLLM at City of Hope Atlanta, beginning with AI-enabled clinical trial matching that helps clinicians connect patients more efficiently with leading-edge therapies.  Congressman Jack’s support demonstrates how thoughtful federal investment can translate directly into better access, better care, and better outcomes for the communities we serve here in Georgia.”
