The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Saturday, Nov. 7.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday with 0 deaths and 1 hospitalization reported. Of those 17 cases, the age group of 45-54 years old had 5 new cases which was the most of any age group. So far in November, Coweta is averaging 10.4 cases per day, slightly below the daily rate of 12.4 for October.

To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 3086 cases, 63 deaths and 155 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 7.8 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.6 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

Across the state, Georgia confirmed 1719 cases on Saturday (down 19 from Friday’s totals), 37 deaths (up 7), 118 hospitalizations (up 18) and 16 ICU admits (down 1). Georgia has been over 2000 cases in a day just twice since Sept. 19 and continues its streak of 84 consecutive days below 3000.

Presently, there are 1495 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, down 16 from yesterday. Also today, 2366 ICU beds are in use across the state (80.7 percent capacity) which is down 41 from Friday.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 371,825 cases, 8193 deaths, 32,435 hospitalizations and 6091 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.4 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 7.2 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
