Each month we cover some of the hot trends from health and wellness, fashion and style, business or even tapping into your creative side.
Fall is a fun time of transition and new beginnings
There will soon be a cool breeze in the air as we transition into fall. Children are starting to get excited about the Kiwanis Coweta County Fair, which brings fun, smiles and laughter. September is also a perfect time to get out in the yard and fluff it up – dig in the dirt, prune, plant shrubs and fall flowers. Southern Roots Nursery suggests replacing summer plants with pansies, snapdragon and ornamental cabbage as well as kale. These will take you all the way through spring. It is a very good time to rejuvenated the summer soil with new soil and is great for the soul. This is when I get busy fertilizing fall plantings and get the gutters cleaned out and power wash the house. If you have the patience to wait for bulbs to bloom in the spring then go for it! Investing in your yard has a lasting impact on creating a beautiful outdoor space. Your front porch, door and entryway are the first impression to welcome those to your home so you need to give the best impression. Happy fall!
Getting organized, letting go and getting back on track
Just like in the spring, the fall is another perfect time to purge and clean out our closets. We have wonderful places to donate your items. Children Connect in downtown Newnan loves children’s books, empty food cans for projects and Legos your children no longer need. Check out local nonprofits where you can donate like New Beginnings in downtown Newnan, One Roof on Temple Avenue, Goodwill, and The Salvation Army. Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore takes about everything but clothing, bedding and fabric. After our flood in January we have restored a great deal of our home from ReStore’s new location on Bullsboro Drive.
