Folk Songs of World War One at The Carnegie
2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11 Adam Miller is a renowned American folksinger and natural-born storyteller. His time-honored traditional folksongs and ballads are the songs of America’s heritage: a window into the soul of our nation in its youth. Describing his new program “Folk Songs of World War One”, Miller reflects that many of the songs of this war have become part of the English-language oral tradition. Seventy million military personnel participated in the First World War (1914-1918), the so-called “War to End All Wars” and this year commemorates the 100th anniversary of the end of this first, but not last, world war.
