The Joint: Hemrick’s Deli and Cafe

Everyone has their “go-to” place to eat. It might be with linen tablecloths and waiters in ties, or where you throw peanuts on the floor and carve your initials in the wooden tables. Whatever and wherever, it’s your “joint.”
There are lots of these places around here, and we’re out to find them all in The Joints column. This month – it’s Hemrick’s Deli and Cafe.
Hemrick’s Deli and Cafe
You know those gigantor food courts you find in big indoor malls? The ones with everything from Chinese to pitas, ice cream and fresh lemonade, cheesesteaks, pizza, hamburgers, chicken tenders … you get our drift.
Well, if you’re out on the west side of Newnan, there’s a new mini food court popping up. And it will have a small, but nice variety of food choices when it’s completed.
For as long as anyone can remember there was Hemrick’s Grocery and in its own section, Hemrick’s Deli and Cafe.
The Deli and Cafe section is getting the upgrade. Don’t panic, Charley’s Chicken and all the sides are still there. And they are keeping the breakfast menu too.
But more additions are coming. Not too long ago they added a Blimpie – America’s Sub Shop. Soon to join will be Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies; Baja Fresh, Mexican Food; and an Uncle Maddio’s Pizza.
They are also adding The UPS Store, but that’s not really a joint.
This will probably become the go-to place when everyone wants something different to eat.
