Weather Week in Coweta: Rain likely Monday, then 90s return

Rain is likely today as the work week kicks off in Coweta County, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Today’s forecast calls for a 70 percent rain chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon under partly sunny skies with a high near 86 degrees, then 60 percent tonight.

The remainder of the work week looks mostly dry with sunny skies. A rain chance of 20 percent is forecast for Wednesday, and 30 percent on Thursday and Friday as the normal summer weather pattern returns.

High temperatures the remainder of the week will be 89 on Tuesday, 90 on Wednesday, 91 on Thursday and 93 on Friday. Lows will be near 70.

MONDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

MONDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 69. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

WEDNESDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind.

THURSDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.

FRIDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.
