The Joints: Golden’s on the Square
From Staff Reports
Everyone has their “go-to” place to eat. It might be with linen tablecloths and waiters in ties, or where you throw peanuts on the floor and carve your initials in the wooden tables. Whatever and wherever, it’s your “joint.”
There are lots of these places around here, and we’re out to find them all in The Joints column. This month – it’s Golden’s On The Square in downtown Newnan.
Golden’s On The Square
Back in 2000, Southern Magazine named it the “Best Meat and Three” in the South. For diehard customers, and they are legend, Golden’s On The Square continues that tradition two decades later.
Founded back in 1972, Golden’s serves buffet style meals with a spacious dining room. They are a casual southern cooking establishment that prides itself on noting “our homemade meals are prepared daily from the same familiar recipes prepared by the same team members.”
The menu changes daily but there are always several meat/fish offerings, vegetables, salads and desserts. If you are looking for some good ol’ Southern comfort food, you would be hard pressed to beat Golden’s.
