The Joints: Tammy’s Neighborhood Cafe
Understand first that there are house rules. No smoking, no vaping. Turn off your cell phone when ordering. Use headphones and watch your tongue. To sum it up, as one sign says, “Be Respectful”
Which, if you want some incredible down home Southern cooking at incredible prices, just be polite and you will do fine. Tammy’s Neighborhood Corner Cafe is “Home of the $3 Breakfast and Free Coffee,” which includes grits, one pattie, two eggs and toast.
Open for breakfast and lunch, the cafe has lunch platters staring at $5.75 to $7.75. And they have awesomeness from turkey wings/necks, beef liver, BBQ pigs feet to hamburger steak, pork chops and baked or fried chicken. And Miss Tammy makes sure you know all her sides, from collards to cabbage to sweet potato souffle to mac and cheese, are the real deal. “No Canned Veggies” as her menu points out.
So come on down and say hi to Miss Tammy. She will be more than happy to take care of you. Just make sure you aren’t talking on your phone when you order.
