The Joints: Huddle House
From Staff Reports
Everyone has their “go-to” place to eat. It might be with linen tablecloths and waiters in ties, or where you throw peanuts on the floor and carve your initials in the wooden tables. Whatever and wherever, it’s your “joint.”
There are lots of these places around here, and we’re out to find them all in The Joints column. This month – it’s Huddle House just off Exit 41.
One of the great things in life is choice. For example, if you want a pancake for breakfast you should be able to do that and not be forced with a “waffle only” option. And you can get your choice of waffles or pancakes and a whole lot more down at the Huddle House off Interstate 85’s Exit 41.
Dick Ford and his wife, Pam, have owned the franchise for 23 years. He’s served on the Moreland City Council as well as being mayor. So although it’s a franchise, it’s plenty local for us. And where do we start? For hashbrown lovers how about “your favorite breakfast meats, scrambled eggs and American cheese stuffed between layers of our crispy hashbrowns.”
We love country fried steak. It’s awesome. We also love our philly cheesesteaks. They serve it on Texas toast and it will put you in a heavenly coma. Fried shrimp? Why, yes please and just throw in the hamburger steak behind. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night cravings, this place will give you a darn good meal at a very fair price.
