When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way. It is a community-oriented marketplace that features a variety of local farmers, food producers, artisans, and craftsmen. You can find a wide selection of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, herbs, and flowers. There are also local food producers selling homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, and other artisanal products. The market also features handmade crafts, such as pottery, jewelry, and textiles. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and other family-friendly activities.  EVERY Saturday.

This market brings approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats, honey, eggs, prepared foods and so much more. It’s the perfect place to find the consummate gift for the foodie in your life and visitors will also find live music going on.

HIKE AND YOGA
9:30 a.m. at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan GA • 770-254-7271
Hosted by Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park. Guests will meet at the Visitor Center at 9:30 a.m. to complete paperwork before moving to Trailhead 1. The hike will explore the Flat Rock Trail system for 45-60 minutes before setting up for a yoga session. Participants will eat lunch before heading back to Trailhead 1. The cost is $25. Additionally, all participants are required to purchase a parking pass ($5.00) or possess a valid annual State Park pass (not a National Park pass) or Friends of Georgia State Parks pass. Participants should have good hiking boots, water, lunch, yoga mat, and towel to protect your mat. A limited number of mats are available for loan and can be reserved when registering. Please bring a towel if borrowing a mat. All proceeds go to Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park.

MARKET DAY
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Courthouse Square, Downtown Newnan
Hosted by Main Street Newnan on the first Saturday of every month. The Market features over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.

44TH ANNUAL OLD SOUTHEASTERN BAND INVITATIONAL
12:50 p.m. at Drake Stadium, 190 LaGrange Street, Newnan
It’s the 44th Annual Old Southeastern Invitational! This year’s show features seventeen of the most talented and entertaining marching bands from Georgia and Alabama, and two special exhibition performances, including the Newnan Marching Cats 2023 show titled, “The Nirvana Jazz Project.” General Admission (Bleacher) Tickets for the show are $10. MICRO WRESTLING AT ABIDE

This show is for all age. The Micro Wrestling Federation is a full-scale, WWE type event supported by an entire cast under five feet tall. The Joy FM and 1st Franklin Financial are teaming up again this year to help local families in need as the annual T-Shirts for Turkeys event returns. This three-day happening begins Monday, November 6 and runs through Wednesday, November 9 in Coweta County. Both The Joy FM and 1st Franklin Financial needs the public’s help in stocking the freezers of the many area food banks and ministries who feed the local, hurting families. People are asked to donate frozen turkeys at designated Chick-fil-A drop-off points. When folks donate a turkey, they will receive a newly designed Joy FM T-shirt.  $10 gift cards from any local grocery store and cash are also accepted.
