The weekends continue to be busy with various events taking place in-and-around Coweta County. Headliner events this weekend include the Veteran’s Day Ceremony, Movie Night “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” with the Newnan Police Department, Bark in the Park and the performance of Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer Jr. at Wadsworth Auditorium.

November 11, FRIDAY

Veterans Day Ceremony
11 a.m. … Veterans Park, Corner of Temple Ave. and Jackson St., downtown Newnan. All are welcome to attend but bring your own lawn chairs. A public fellowship luncheon will be held at the Coweta Veterans Club after the ceremony.

Senoia Holiday Boutique Crawl

Jennifer Coburn: Book Talk and Signing at PTC Library
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. … Based on true events, Jennifer Coburn‘s Cradles of the Reich was inspired by the largely untold stories of the Lebensborn program, Himmler’s state supported housing for young women whose sole purpose was to give birth to pure blooded Aryan children to be raised by SS families as future leaders of the new Nazi Germany. On site book sales provided by Book Miser. This is a free, drop-in event. Movie Night with the Police Department
Join the Newnan Police Department for an exciting movie night sponsored by Texas Roadhouse. At 4 p.m., meet and take pictures with both Santa Claus and the Grinch before 6:30 p.m. when they start screening the 2000 Christmas classic movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Hot chocolate will be provided. Bringing your own lawn chairs and blankets is recommended. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is rated PG for language and rude humor. Movie will be shown next to the City of Newnan Police Department, 1 Joseph Hannah Blvd., Newnan, GA 30263.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer JR.
7:30 p.m. Friday; 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday … presented by Newnan Academy of Theatre Arts at Wadsworth Auditorium in downtown Newnan. Because of his shiny nose, Rudolph doesn’t feel like he belongs in Christmastown and sets off to find a place that accepts him. Along his journey, he encounters fellow misfits, only to realize that home is where he has belonged the whole time. Bark in the Park
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. … Come support Newnan-Coweta Humane Society and Coweta County Animal Services for our Bark in the Park event at 91 Selt Road, Newnan! There will be food, vendors, a silent auction, and family/pet friendly entertainment! Also, CCAS will be providing $25 cat and dog adoptions!! Note that all adoptions include vetting and a microchip!
