Each month, this Trends & Trendsetters column covers some of the hot trends from health and wellness, fashion and style, business or even tapping into your creative side. There are so many new trends happening in social media, politics, business and fashion. Look for 2020 to be filled with many new ones while still holding on to those timeless trends.

Our New Normal

Social distancing is one of those phrases that just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. But we are not made for social distancing. We were created for relationships. So, at least call your friends. And get busy doing something. Do things that inspire and renew your soul. Be intentional and live in this moment. My prayer is we will come out of this more resilient, yet also filled with more compassion.

Here’s what is Hip & Happening in Beauty, Fashion & Hair Care

Hair extensions and wigs continue to be all the rage and Merle Norman and Sugar’s Boutique has a massive selection. They’re fun and if you don’t want to mess with fixing your hair after a day at the pool or at the beach, you can just pop on a wig or a ponytail extension. Check the store for hours and they are also shipping orders.

Want to go all out and make a bold statement with your hair, then Taylor Marsh, a hair stylist and colorist at Parlor 34 Hair in Newnan, can do just that for you. She does what she calls a “unicorn” using five colors to present an awesome look. She can also create a “blond bombshell” that includes multiple hues.

I would certainly be remiss if I did not mention “face masks” which have now become a fashion necessity and accessory. I know several local artists and designers who are making glamorous, beautiful, creative and protective “face masks.” We are being encouraged to wear these so why not look your best. Some of those who are making them include  Carol Hamlin of C. Hamlin Designs. She can be found on Instagram and Facebook as C. Hamilin Designs or by phone @ 770.301.5026. Charlotte DuBose Lunsford creates masks too. You can contact Charlotte on Facebook  @createsewgrow or her personal site on Instagram @clunsfordga. Also, check out Terry Ingram at One Divine Design, who is also making masks and can include your company logo. She’s at 770-683-3120 or [email protected]. Wear a face mask and be safe.

Big flowing tops made in Italy are always in style and I have five and just adore them. There are some  fabulous ones at Cobblestone Marketplace inside Circa Antique Market. And Blue Fern Merchant Design Studio has these great full flowing boho kimono tops that I have mentioned before. Pair them with skinny legged pants and cowboy boots or leopard flats and you’re rocking a hot look. This is a great way to dress yourself happy.

Faux lashes keep getting more and more popular. I personally love Kiss brand #11 and I have to say I am excited that faux lashes have become quite a staple. They also have lashes with a magnetic liner where you simply pop on the  lashes. I will keep you updated on that.
