The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Tuesday, Oct. 20.
COWETA COUNTY CASES
Coweta County confirmed 8 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday with 1 death and no hospitalizations. The death was of a 63-year-old white male with no underlying conditions, pushing the October death total in Coweta to 14. Among the 8 cases today, the age group of 15-24 year-olds had the most new cases with 3.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
GEORGIA CASES
Across the state on Tuesday, Georgia confirmed 1128 cases (up 376 from Monday’s totals), 17 deaths, 153 hospitalizations (up 141 from Monday) and 36 ICU admits (up 34 from yesterday). It’s also the 31st consecutive day Georgia has been below 2,000 cases in a single day, the 66th straight day below 3,000.
Presently, there are 1,314 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID.
Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 342,438 cases, 7674 deaths, 30,541 hospitalizations and 5701 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.6 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.9 percent.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
