Weather: Halloween forecast wet this morning, dry tonight

Halloween here in Coweta County will begin with a chance of rain before 1 p.m. today before clearing takes place for tonight’s Trick-or-Treaters, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

This morning’s Munchkin Masquerade is from 10 a.m. to Noon in downtown Newnan. The little ones can expect cloudy skies with a temperature of 63 degrees when it starts and 66 at Noon. Southwest wind will be around 5 mph with a chance of rain throughout the event. The NWS lists the rain chances at 70 percent earlier in the morning but should be near 30 percent by the time the event starts.

Tonight, the local Trick-or-Treaters will have partly cloudy skies with no rain in the evening forecast. Temperatures will start at 67 degrees at 6 p.m. before dropping to 59 by 9 p.m. Winds will be from the West at 5 mph. Sunset here in Coweta County will take place at 6:47 p.m.

HALLOWEEN – Showers likely, mainly before 1pm. Patchy fog between 9am and 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. South wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. West wind around 5 mph.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
