Weather: Heat, humidity continue in Coweta County

The usual summer weather pattern is alive and well in Coweta County again this week, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City. 

Basically, folks in Coweta County can expect the heat and humidity to continue through Friday before drier conditions and cooler temperatures arrive Saturday. 

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are in this week’s forecast with rain probabilities listed at 60 percent today, 50 percent Tuesday, 60 percent on Wednesday and 70 percent on Thursday. It drops to 20 percent on Friday.

Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. Overnight lows are expected to be around 70 degrees.

MONDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

MONDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Calm wind.

TUESDAY – A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 10am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

WEDNESDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

THURSDAY – A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

FRIDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.
