Weather: Warmer, mostly dry week ahead

Coweta County folks are hoping the last of the unseasonable cooler weather and gusty wind conditions are in the rear view mirror as the work week begins.
Saturday’s high was only 57 and overnight lows on both Friday and Saturday nights dipped into the mid-30s, according to the weather station at the Newnan-Coweta Airport. The gusty winds also played a factor over the weekend. The highest wind gust recorded on Saturday was 26, while on Friday was 25.
The high temperatures expected this week, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, will be in the 70s and low 80s. Today, the high will be near 73 degrees. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday, the high will reach 80 before the next serious chance for rain appears Wednesday night and Thursday when the high drops slightly to 76 on Thursday and 77 on Friday.
Overnight lows all week will be in the 50s and 60s.
Winds will be 5-10 mph from the South through Wednesday, but gusts are expected to be about 15 with an occasional 20 mph gust on Wednesday.
