Weather: Hot and mostly dry over the weekend

If you’ve been looking for a weekend to get outside and do things, this is probably one you have been pointing to.

The National Weather Service says to expect high temperatures near 90 degrees with rain chances listed from 10 percent today to 30 percent on Saturday and Sunday here in Coweta County.

The warmest day will be today with a high of 92 degrees and sunny skies. A 10 percent rain chance enters into the overnight forecast with a low near 67.

Again, mostly sunny on Saturday and Sunday with highs of 91 and 86, respectively. The 30 percent chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm would be late in the afternoon. Overnight lows for both nights will be near 70.

The rain chance increases to 60 percent Monday afternoon to start the work week with a high expected to be around 87.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 67. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

SATURDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

SUNDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

MONDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
